William Milles Blake - Indian Army

Postby researchingreg » July 16th, 2017, 2:16 pm

William Milles Blake was born in 1790 at Plymtree in Devon and joined the Indian Army.
He became either an Ensign, Cornet or 2nd/Lt on 3 July 1807 (I presume from Cadet 1806) he died 21 July 1810 at St George Madras.

I have found him in this list "Alphabetical list of the Officers of the Indian Army: by Edward Dodwell - https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=nON ... 07&f=false

But I cannot find any other information on him i.e regiment etc. I assume it was the British Indian Army and not the HEIC Army.

I assume the St George referred to in the date of his death was the St George Fortress built by the HEIC in Madras in 1644.

Any ideas?
