British Infantry Turnback Ornaments

Postby Mr Kochi Bracegirdle » January 30th, 2017, 8:24 pm

Hello there, guys.

Quick question. I've noticed in several paintings, drawings, and reenactors' uniforms that some British flank company uniforms sport some ornamentation on them, namely grenades for grenadiers, horns for light infantry, and some regiment specific insignia on some officers.

I also bought a British 87th Regiment Light Company uniform, and it came with two little bugle horns on the turnbacks (I never specified they should be included, btw). I don't have the uniform at hand right now, but I made a sketch:

So, does anyone know of any sources regarding these little decorations?

Cheers.-
