Looking at A. Saint-Albin: Championnet 1860 http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k6 ... tem.r=etat On p.58, it mentions during the Holland campaign that: "Tout l'etat-major de Championnet vit a la hospital de Hocheim un soldat francias, qui avait un doigt coupe par les dents d'un Autrichien" - All of Championnet's staff saw a French soldier in the hospital at Hocheim, whose finger had been bitten off by an Austrian's teeth. Ouch.
