Apsley House is reopening

Postby FBC-Elvas, Portugal » April 1st, 2017, 7:41 am

Apsley House, sometimes known as "No. 1, London", home of the Dukes of Wellington, reopens this weekend with a chance to see the 400-piece Prussian Dinner Service. This was commissioned 200 years ago by King Frederick William III of Prussia as a gift to Wellington in recognition of his victory over Napoleon.

Sarah,

Good news! I visited there several years ago and was most impressed. Now I am looking forward to another visit.

All the best,

Gary

Thanks for letting us know, Sarah! To my utter shame, I have yet to visit Apsley House!

Then I can't ask you, Mark, to tell us what's changed! If anything.

But you could give us a first impression.

I didn't even know it had closed. A friend and I have been planning to go since last summer....

It''ll be the first time for me too. The prospect of all that shiny monumental Regency stuff never attracted, but now I have a different perspective. Grace á NWF.

I think I'll plan a summer trip to London and visit this year.
