Help please with Photograph.

Postby pelican » October 22nd, 2013, 3:19 pm

Could anyone please help with this CDV Photo I have just bought. The Collar has the number 81 on it along with what looks like the pre 1882 Lancashire Collar badge. From what I can find the no 81 refers to the Loyal Lincoln Volunteers which were raised in 1793 in responce to the French Revolution of 1793. I have also included 2 areas of the Photograph enlarged.I am new to this forum and can only apologise if this post is in the wrong place.Andy.

Hi Andy.
Just a heads up, your question will definitely get an answer on the NWF's sister forum the Victorian Wars Forum, I advise you to take it there for best results. Not sure if you'll get much with a Victorian photo here.
