I stopped collecting last year. the reason being the high fees that the auction houses now ask for. I have a few waterloo medals including a nice set of a segt in the 5th KGL line infantry. both his waterloo and 8 bar general service metal our in his name, but the German service medal was added between 1908 and 2011. Anyone who knows about the battle of waterloo will know that the 5th got caught in line by French cavalry and got cut to bits. The general service medals are mainly 5 to 8 bar. the only other one is from a guardsman who due to drink was given 700 lashes, no wonder he went to Canada afterwards. On a side note, the last auction I went to had the part of general slades medals. they sold to an American who had flown in first glass just for the auction. michael
