'Mark Forums Read'

Postby jf42 » March 10th, 2016, 10:03 pm

I clicked this out of curiousity this evening, expecting to be presented with options as to how to mark forums that had been read, although not sure quite what purpose this would serve, only to find that the button actually did mark forums as read. All forums.

That is a bit of a bore as I find the "view unread posts" quite useful when logging on. 'Posts,' mind, not 'forums.'

I don't suppose there is any way of reversing the selection.

Still don't know what it's for

The button is very useful for people like me that use forums but do not read all posts. When you have finished you hit the button and then when you come back you can use the View new posts option and only see what has been posted since your last visit.

Happy for you, of course, but you can do that anyway by simply using said "View new posts' button.

Clicked it myself in the past and regretted it. One of the many functions of the phpBB software that may or may not be useful; personally I avoid it. Sadly, no way of reversing it either.
