Spammers

Postby Mark » November 29th, 2016, 10:43 am

Dear All

It is getting increasingly more difficult to spot potential spammers attempting to register on the forum. This is mainly due to the way they hide their IP addresses etc. I will continue to do my utmost to prevent spammers getting onto the forum, but I fear some will always get through.

If you spot any spam please use the report post function and I will delete as soon as I can.

Kind Regards

Mark

Judging by the amount of junk in my personal email, plus the spam texts and phonecalls, it's a pretty impossible task to block them all, I'd say. And must be a frustratingly complete waste of time.

Frankly I don't remember seeing any spam on this forum, so you must be doing a great job!! :D

I spend more time administrating the forum in the background than I do reading the threads, which is a real shame but such is life.

I tend to agree, I get lots of spam and phish attacks, which are much worse.

I an sure that if all the ISPs in the world got together and reported these malicious types, then closed their accounts, it would have an impact.
The email server companies can surely see what sort of emails their customers are sending out!
