Hello Mark, I still cannot figure out posting photos here, size requirement of 700 pixels. I'm not greatly computer literate, I use Photobucket and copy IMG code and paste on other forums posts and the photo comes up large without any problem. I try the same here but it stops me requiring 700 pixels. How do I do this without downsizing my pictures on Photobucket?
Where can I find info on the link provided?

hi Will
There is an edit option once you either select or open the image within photobucket. select resize and make the larger pixel dimension 700 or less. then save it, go back to your album and highlight the new image just saved. there should be 3 options that appear beneath it... click on the contents of the " direct link" box. This will copy the link to your clipboard. Now all you have to do is start a thread here, or post a comment and select the Img button above the text entry box when you are ready to post an image. this will do as follows:

now just put your cursor between the ] and [ brackets, hold down ctrl and hit letter v. This will paste the image location in
preview your post and see if it works...

You shouldn't need to downsize any images dimensions before uploading to the forum any more. Although the default setting is 700x700 we have installed a modification that will automatically downsize the image to fit but will then expand when a user clicks on the posted image back to its original size. You just need to make sure the file size (i.e. in Kb or Mb) is under 1 Mb.

More information can be found in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=174 Scroll downa nd click on the image of the Brown Bess bayonet and you will see how the image resizer works.

Hope that helps...

Mark :)

Aye, but I'd have to get the answer right.... by the way I couldn't post images bigger than 700... I had to resize all the ones in the showcase...

Could be the image resizer mod needs reinstalling - I had a similar problem over on our sister-forum. When I get chance later this week I'll see what I can do.
