Did field officers of the RCR wear the light infantry Officer Shako or the standard helmet worn by OR?

In Kerr Porter's near contemporary painting of the death of Abercromby circa 1801-1804 which shows Sir Hudson Lowe then a Major in the rangers at far left, Lowe is wearing a round hat with a feather in it. Michael Barthorp writes that the men wore the shako as of 1801, I assume the officers wore round hats or the shako.
