200th Anniversary of the Battle of Katzbach

200th Anniversary of the Battle of Katzbach

I believe today is the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Katzbach which took place on 26th August 1813. The battle actually came about by accident when the Prussian-Russian force under Blücher bumped into the French under MacDonald near Liegnitz in Prussia. Following what was a confused action the Prussians and Russians were victorious over the French.

Other than the above I have to confess I do not know much about this action so please feel free to discuss any aspect of it below.
