You're having a busy summer, Gary. Hope the Lundy's Lane bicentennial was well attended.

It was well attended about 1,000 plus, bus loads of guests from the U.S. Armed Forces. Dozens of Canadian Armed Forces Senior and General Officers. Anyone in Niagara Falls tourist area cannot help to know of Lundy's Lane historical area due to pennants with portraits of famous battle leaders, and a large archway near the graves, cenotaph area.

5th Lincoln,

Thanks for the report. Do you live in the area? If so, I am looking for a positive ID of Richard Leonard's grave in the Drummond Hill cemetery.

All the best,

Gary

I am a Stoney Creek guy so do I visit Niagara 40 minutes away. Will check out Drummond Hill Cemetary Niagara Falls soon. According to a book I just bought, Where Right And Glory Lead, he is buried along his military family.

After today's trip in -10C. wind, I got what I believe to be the grave marker of Major Richard Leonard. According to the book "Where Right and Glory Lead." He is buried near Col Gordon. Whose grave is about 20 meters from Leonard.
Pics are in reverse order.
5.The new Lundy's Lane sign over the main drag telling the visitors that here is battle sight and Drummond Hill Cemetary.
4. A Sergeant's 1814 marker.
3. Lt. Col Bishop tomb.
2. Col. Gordon's tombstone.
1." In Memory of Major Richard Leonard..........." The badly worn tombstone, which shows, the In Memory of............ ard... of his names. The other several dozen soldier gravestones around this area are mostly unreadable, or slightly readable. A few are broken or repaired. The vast majority of soldiers found after 1814, were interred under the monument. The US has an area too.

Excellent work! Thank you for taking the time to search for it. Looks as if it has been heavily repaired.

All the best,
