We honoured seven Veterans of the War of 1812 yesterday. The ceremony was moved indoors due to the treat of thunder and heavy rain...which happened not with standing the photo! There were about 30 people in attendance including our MP, Deputy Premier of NB, Deputy Mayor of Fredericton, MLA and military representatives.

All the best,

Gary

Well done, Gary.

A pleasing reward for what, I suspect, was long and considerable effort.

Peter

Well done, indeed Gary. The CBC article is quite moving. Were there many viewers, despite the weather? Bad luck there.
Do descendants of the seven veterans live in the area?

Sarah,

There were about 30-40 people there. Many more were invited but did not show. Also, replying to an RSVP appears to be a dead art! As for fsmily, I did not have the time to try to track them down. Most of the family names have disappeared so I would have had to do some serious genealogical research. There was a ceremonyteo weeks ago for Private Hemry Merrit in Grand Falls, NB. The organizer turned it into a family reunion and there were about 100 people in attendance.

All the best,

Gary

Well Done Gary.

And always nice to put a face and a voice to a name that we know
