French Prisoners Graves in Alresford

The 15th century church of St John the Baptist stands sentinel over the graves of five Napoleonic soldiers, who had been captured and brought to Alresford as prisoners of war. One of them was a woman, Marie Louise Fournier, wife of Captain Francois Bertet of the Imperial Corps. ... alresford/
