There is a new memorial for the Bijleveld battery since last week.
It should have been at Quatre-Bras, but unfortunately, it's in Genappe.

Thanks for the news. I will take a look next time (I plan to walk all the way from Quatre-Bras to Waterloo; It was a bit too warm last Friday..., 35 C). I found pictures of the ceremony at Genappe here: http://www.korpsrijdendeartillerie.nl/K ... appe_2015/

So sad to see the continuing deterioration of the Quatre-Bras farm. The plan now is no undoubtedly to just let it fall down so there's nothing to restore.

What is the monument in the picture just above the text Road from Charleroi to Brussels, near Gemioncourt farm

Monument for the Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel commander of the Herzoglich Braunschweigisches Korps, killed at the battle.

I found an interesting engraving here: https://exhibitions.lib.cam.ac.uk/water ... brunswick/ . In the background is Quatre-Bras farm clearly picturized.
