Few Napoleonic commemorations in official 2014 French guide

Postby FBC-Elvas, Portugal » February 28th, 2014, 4:28 pm

This week's THE NAPOLEON.ORG BULLETIN reports that the French Ministry of Culture has just issued its 2014 guide for official 'national' commemorations. The First World War is well represented but one might be tempted to say ‘as usual' - almost no Napoleonic commemorations are mentioned. In any case, there is nothing (absolutely nothing) about the French Campaign.

Sadly I suspect the same can be said for the British plans for commemorating anniversaries in 2014. At least the British government donated £1 million to the restoration of Hougoumont but I fear we will hear little else from them as regards the Napoleonic Wars.
