Congratulations to the Royal Engineers. 2016 is their 300th anniversary.

Some celebratory events have been organised in the coming months; more info from

Sapper 300 Games 8-9 June, Perham Down.

Musical Extravanga at Rochester Castle 16 July

Memorial Service at Rochester Cathedral 18 September

I keep meaning to visit the RE Museum,which is in Gillingham, but its always a bit of a trek for me.
I'd like to as Im hoping the archives there will have some correspondence regarding the building of the Martello towers on Jersey and the loophole towers on both Jersey and Guernsey, which is my pet land interest.
