A small contingent of Chasseurs a Pied marched into Ligny on the afternoon of June 16, and were inspected in front of the Ferme D'en Haut.

We were right in front of the Hougoumont chateau. I must say they did a poor job on the buildings. Solid red walls with blue windows, and the reenactors kept having to put the walls back up after each French assault. I tried to not take pictures with the buildings in view. I realize this had to be put up and taken down rapidly, but if they would have taken the time to at least cut out the windows and make a brick pattern, it would have greatly improved the scene. I was still very impressed, but it did not make for good photography.

In the below photo, you can see the red walls, and the top of a defenders shako.
