Hi
My 5th great grandfather fought at waterloo with the 40th. On his medal roll it also says that he served in the 47th from 1st jan 1809,to dec 14 with the battalion being disbanded, but on the musters of the 47th it say joined 47th at Hilsea feb 1812. He was born in 1796 so in 1809 was 13, 16 in 1812. The fact that the musters give a date as 1 jan 1809 has intrested me to what he di for the three years missing!! . Reason im asking is Soldier Magazine are doing an article in two weeks on my family, who have had continuing service ,every generation up until me. can anybody help
